Pilgrimage Tours specialises in providing positive travel experiences for students and is a part of the ‘European Connections’ group.

We have thirty years experience in this field. No company comes any where near our provision of accommodation, catering and transport.

We analyse every aspect of each tour that we offer to individual schools or colleges. At the start of the booking process we not only send you a suggested itinerary, but also a preliminary safety assessment in the form of a booklet.

As the date of departure approaches, we will refine this assessment into a final statement.

We are ATOL bonded (ATOL 9185) with the Government’s Civil Aviation Authority.

This means that your payments are safe and secure. It also implies a duty of care that we take very seriously. We will send you a copy of the licence document and you can check on the CAA website.

We are insured for public liability to the sum of five million pounds. We will send you a copy of the insurance policy.

We send groups with tour guides who are sympathetic, experienced and knowledgeable.

Our directors run guided tours, provide a commentary and advise and make arrangements for the Party Leaders. It is the Party Leaders who are responsible for the direct care of the students, not the Tour Directors.

Our Tour Directors are there to make sure that everything runs smoothly and safely. They are aware of potential problems and advise party leaders. They are backed up by our office staff in England who are on hand to modify bookings and plans to deal with events.

For example, when the recent ash cloud problem grounded flights we had a group approaching Pisa Airport. We were able to accommodate the party in nearby Florence and to arrange for a coach to drive out from London overnight to bring them back safely and soundly. We take our duty of care seriously.

We have a pamphlet of booking conditions, a copy of which is forwarded to all Party Leaders and which spells out exactly where they stand in relation to Pilgrimage Tours.
